What happened to changing the world?

Maybe this is some delusion I have, but I've always believed that there are people out there who want to <span style="font-weight:bold;">change the world</span>. These are the revolutionaries, the visionaries, the ones who look at the world and see something different.

  • True, but I'm surprised I haven't met any at my university, and I go to a pretty good school.
  • You are clearly looking in the wrong place, for revolutionaries are not born in pretty good schools or towns or wherever. Great revolutionaries are born when they inquire within and find out for themselves who they are. Everything else will fall in place.
  • Yes, I agree they're "not born in pretty good schools or towns or wherever". My point was that I would have assumed that these revolutionaries would naturally pop up at "good" universities such as Stanford/MIT, etc... From the past that's where these revolutionaries seem to have congregated...
  • well, a fair assumption, but let's dig a little deeper. Is it that revolutionaries are born or just a statistical anomaly that seems to pop out - i.e. wouldn't a pc revolution have happened anyways? Wouldn't there be some google anyways? I suppose the environment brings out the revolutionaries, not necessarily the other way around (though that is a possibility indeed)!
