Don't worry too much about making money." mantra. I think that if you make an app that people actually want, you will have no problem selling it or monetizing it through ads, sponsors, or partnerships.

Re: Can you make a living off iPhone apps?

Unfortunately if you're trying to do it for a living you can't really just cross your fingers and hope that the money will come later. If typical sales are in two digits and you need four to keep you in Macs, gadgets and housing then it's just not going to happen. As Andy Finnell suggests, professional developers will leave the App Store leaving only hobbyists and software will not evolve as new and exciting alternatives to the iPhone come along.

Re: Point Counts

I just added this feature and submitted the new version to Apple. (Usually a few days).

Meanwhile, here's a screenshot of the new version: http://i35.tinypic.com/2ahe9v9.png

Let me know if you have any other suggestions or feedback!

Re: Point Counts

I like your suggestion quite a bit! Would you like this feature?

Re: Point Counts

Can it do decimals? You will also be able to save custom food items and their point value. This new app should be released in the next few weeks.

Re: Point Counts

Does this app also have a history of foods that have been entered?

Re: What happened to changing the world?

well, a fair assumption, but let's dig a little deeper. Is it that revolutionaries are born or just a statistical anomaly that seems to pop out - i.e. wouldn't a pc revolution have happened anyways? Wouldn't there be some google anyways? I suppose the environment brings out the revolutionaries, not necessarily the other way around (though that is a possibility indeed)!
